If You Thought PowerRanchHOA.com Was Official, It’s NOT. And Now She Owns Your Data.

What You Need to Know About PowerRanchHOA.com and the Board Members Using It

There’s been confusion across Power Ranch about what communications are truly official—and it’s not by accident.
Current Board Vice President Anh Jung and Board Member Katharine Wick have been using the domain PowerRanchHOA.com for board communication, committee communications and homeowner communications, and its site and Facebook have been used to distribute politically charged content. But here’s what many don’t realize:

PowerRanchHOA.com is NOT the official website or email domain of the HOA. It is owned and operated privately—by Vice President Anh Jung herself.

What’s the Risk?

Using a private domain like this is more than misleading—it’s dangerous. When board members send internal HOA information through Anh’s personally controlled system, that data no longer belongs to the HOA. It sits in her personal records. Her server. Her inbox. Even after her term ends, she controls whatever was sent or received.

Worse, this is the same domain tied to a political Facebook group used to attack other board members. The same platform that previously published internal landscaping work orders tied to homeowner addresses—without permission, redaction, or approval.

If Ms. Jung has already proven she is willing to post internal HOA data for political purposes, why should anyone trust her with sensitive communications behind closed doors?

The PRCA’s Communications Policy is clear:
Only authorized personnel may send communications on behalf of the HOA, and all official communications must come from approved systems.

When a board member uses a domain that includes the term “HOA” but isn't sanctioned or managed by the Association, it falsely implies authority—and intentionally confuses homeowners about what’s official and what’s political.

Board members do need a way to separate personal communication from their official role. In fact, PRCA President Ken Starks uses a dedicated Gmail account—kenstarksprcaboard@gmail.com—to keep board matters independent from his personal or professional life.

While Mr. Starks’ leadership is not without criticism, the example sets an important precedent: If the President of the Board can avoid using misleading or politicized platforms, so can the Vice President.

While not all legal boundaries have been tested in court, the use of PowerRanchHOA.com by sitting board members may violate:

  • PRCA Communications Policy (1/28/2013):
Prohibits unauthorized individuals from distributing official HOA communications or misrepresenting content as official.

  • PRCA Board Code of Ethics (Adopted 12/09/2024):
Requires board members to avoid conflicts of interest, act in the best interest of the community, and refrain from using their role for personal or political gain.

  • A.R.S. § 10-3830 – Arizona Nonprofit Corporations:
Requires directors to act in good faith and in a manner reasonably believed to be in the best interests of the association.

This isn’t about politics—it’s about protection.

Your contact information, your maintenance requests, and your community discussions should never be filtered through a partisan platform or stored in a board member’s personal control.

Power Ranch deserves better. And it starts with calling this out—clearly, and now.
